Hotel Accomodation in the UK runs from Bed and Breakfast, to basic "Travelodge" hotels www.travelodge.co.uk where booking in advance can produce some amazing deals, to Holiday Inn type www.holidayinn.com through to the more lavish Relais & Chateaux chain www.relaischateaux.com and many other independent options in between. In fact the independent hotels are often much better at giving you the true "English experience" although many of them are hundreds of years old and restrictions imposed by conservation authorities may have an impact, for instance on the installation of elevators or air conditioning and this can impact on their "star rating".
