The Close Hotel in Tetbury !

I have pleasure in recommending to Customers, The Close Hotel in Tetbury – a delightful family run hotel with beautiful rooms – some with four poster beds – and an excellent kitchen !

Customers visiting the Cotswolds and booking through me will be surprised how the Close Hotel – in my view Tetbury’s finest – represents fantastic value for money.

Tetbury has 60+ antiques stores in the main street and The Close Hotel is right next door to The Highgrove Store – sponsored and owned by Prince Charles who lives just a mile away at Highgrove House. Tetbury is also handy for the exquisite Westonbirt Arboretum, Chavenage House (used in the movie set of Lark Rise to Candleford) and Castle Combe (Movie Set of War Horse) to name but a few local attractions!

Why would you NOT want to visit South Devon and the South Hams ?

.
A nine minute video about the delights of visiting South Devonshire and, in particular, the South Hams !

It may not be on the “bucket list” of many visitors from North America but there is simply masses of history associating this gorgeous area of south west England with the New World !

Quite simply…..why would you NOT want to visit South Devon and the South Hams ? With familiar place names like Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Plymouth, Dartmoor (with its infamous prison) and Exeter etc….. Combine it with an extended tour of Cornwall, Exmoor (the land of Lorna Doone) and Glastonbury (King Arthur’s “Camalot”)

Select 720 HD quality, watch full screen, click off the ads, have a coffee, email your booking !! Ha ! I love the place !

Swansea, Mumbles and The Gower Peninsula in South Wales….!

Today – Swansea, Mumbles and The Gower Peninsula in South Wales….!

Swansea was once the larger copper handling port in the world but is now better known as the home of Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sir Harry Secombe (comedian and opera singer!) and the Welsh cultural author – Dylan Thomas!
Also “Doris” (played by Margaret John) – the hilarious swearing and badly behaved old lady in the Welsh cult comedy “Gavin and Stacey” could be seen out grocery shopping in the supermarkets of Swansea before her untimely death age 84, a year ago !!

The Gower Peninsula has incredible cliff walks and wonderful beaches – but no swimming today for me but my cousin, Artist George Little, goes into the sea every day on the beautiful Caswell beach – even though he is in his 80s!

Enjoy the photos…..by the way the temperature was 30F!

I just watched “Terror At Sea The Sinking Of The Concordia …” on TV

Its just as well these ships don’t hit the rocks too often…..because there is total chaos on board. Minimal safety training, the crew lying…..its beyond belief. I wonder, are the other ships just “lucky”?
