Before you come to Ireland you need to remember one thing….
……..that Ireland is officially the second most expensive country in Europe for food and drink….this large Jameson’s whiskey and Canada try cost 9.65 Euro in a regular pub!

……the only town in these islands with a complete town wall and a long controversial history. The memorial is to those who died on “Bloody Sunday”.
I suggest a personal tour of the city with Michael Cooper – Derry Blue Badge Guide and if you want to try a truly authentic bar, try Peadar O Donnels and the Gweedore Bar where there is always music.

Belfast is a vibrant city – I think better than Dublin for atmosphere!
Many of the city centre pubs have music and then there is always the political murals with years of sad political history which we hope are largely behind us making this a fantastic place to visit on any trip to Ireland.

Saturday…..driving north to Belfast
The photo of the Van is by the river in Dublin.
The boats are in Skerries, Co Dublin on the east coast in the direction of Belfast.
Finally at least I got a decent room at the Europa hotel!
