WHAM BAM…..THANK YOU SAM….?
For those of you who hanker after the high quality of journalism and broadcasting on BBC America, you need to understand there is a rather more “earthy” side to the British press propagated by the daily newspaper “The Sun” which strives to exceed your “National Enquirer”!
Yesterday it was announced that Samantha Cameron, wife of the leader of the Conservative party and possibly to be our new Prime Minister after an election on May 6th, is expecting a baby!!
Take a look at the sensitively designed headline in “The Sun” yesterday……they must have had a laugh thinking that up??
(By the way a “pram” is “English” for “stroller” ! That problem with the language again!!)
Undertaking research…..
I took a ride out on a day which appears to be an oasis of sunshine sandwiched between torrential rain! We ended up at the Wheatsheaf pub in Chilton Foliat in ENGLISH Berkshire (pronounced BARKshire!!!) where we sampled a pint of 6X ale and a delicious “ploughman’s lunch!
See also a photo of me in the “Tetbury Uniform” – red moleskin troose from the Tetbury Tailor – a fantastic shop!!
An Unhealthy Alliance !
……as Tesco the Cat demonstates how a yard of cat can relax on the bed, Phoebe the jealous cat looks on with some discomfort.
What has this got to do with “Let’s Tour England” and travels around in a van?? Absolutely nothing….its just about ME….Ha!!
Off to the Cheltenham Races !
…..Spring has sprung for the Cheltenham racing festival – race goers head for the course past the beautiful Georgian architecture which looks wonderful in the hazy spring sunshine!
And a very good morning to you from Tetbury – “Gateway to the Cotswolds” !
Lovely morning here again…..off to take some Irishmen to the Cheltenham Festival (horse racing!).
Check out my movie of the Bike ride through Wootton Bassett for the Afghan Heroes which I attended on Sunday, below this posting.
